Experience CoVersity – Empower your Teen to lead their life

Aarohi CoVersity Experience Week

What happens when teens are put in charge to lead their life? Visiting and staying at Campus with Aarohi community is a wonderful way for teenagers and their parents to experience self directed learning.

What Aarohi offers is a space, an environment, a culture of open doing and learning. This typically leads to you not only exploring many things but more importantly exploring, knowing and discovering oneself.

You would have an almost infinite choice of things to do. You may explore various interests like music, reading, writing, exploring nature, adventure, playing all kinds of games, drama, dance, electronics, masonry, carpentry, art and the list continues. There is also enough time and space to make friends or be with pets. You may try a hand at art or photography or baking cakes and breads or do barbecue. Get your hands dirty by working in the fields, growing vegetables, maintaining the nursery. Or simply gaze into the skies, into eternity and at times simply do nothing!

Teens lead their life by not only exploring many things but more importantly exploring, knowing and discovering oneself. Add to this the flavor of community living – which is a transformative journey for many of us.

Why should you consider Experience Week?

As a teenager, if you are not sure about your interests then you can use the experience week to explore different interests.

If you are keen to focus on any particular interest of yours then the experience week offers a great opportunity to dive deeper and do some serious work with the help of guides and facilitators.

For a week, you are in charge to lead your life by planning, doing and living your life as per your needs, choices and the freedom to make mistakes.

The experiencing week is for families or teens who are:
– Keen to experience self-directed learning by designing, doing and reflecting on your learning each day along with the help of guides, peers and community
– Already doing open learning or homeschooling or unschooling
– In need of guidance to choose their career path
– Interested in Joining Aarohi / CoVersity
– Understand how to design a professional journey in your interests

Support Circles

Guides/Facilitators will be around to push and nudge you out of the comfort zone. You will also get ample chance to interact with the current CoVersity cohort (digitally if they are in their internship phase). You can learn about their experiences, exposures and roadmaps at CoVersity. You will also be engaging with learners of different ages from the community as you share the campus and daily chores with them.

Family Participation

It is recommended parents also experience the Aarohi campus, community and open learning. Preferably at least one parent stays for the whole week.

FAQ

For youth (13 – 21 years) who are keen to lead their life by explore multiple interests or do intense work in one area or families wanting to be part of a community – This is the starting point to experience Aarohi campus and community.

Do not come thinking of it as a camp to do some activities. Consider joining when you’re ready to live a week along with a community and participate wholeheartedly. Experience week is wonderful for homeschoolers, unschoolers as well as youth who have completed their 12th (regular college or NIOS)

For a wholesome and fruitful experience, commitment is needed from your end. You may not be sure of your interests which is completely natural and this is an opportunity for you to plan and explore different things.
There needs to be active participation with the responsibility to decide and work on yourself and respect the plan you create for yourself. You also respect the routine and working of the community and other community members.

An open mind and roaring spirit, for sure. The rest of it will be communicated during the online briefing meet-ups.

The experience week with Aarohi community involves full-fledged participation on your part to get a flavour of self directed learning where you take charge and lead your life. So, only plan your visit if do not have any other external work or commitments.

If you face any difficulties, we are always there to help you. However, we strongly believe in ‘Come with no expectations, leave with no judgments and enjoy to the fullest’.

Surely – children and adults have been living in this natural campus since 2013.
Do follow the campus safety guidelines strictly. Safety is extremely important at the campus to respect everyone’s privacy, emotional and physical well-being.
