This morning, a child during one of the interactions shouted ‘Mother with a long pause….’
The same child within a matter of minutes in another interaction yelled ‘Mother Mary’ to another child.
Some of us took instant objection to the incident and said we were not ok with the language use.
One child asked does your mother know you use this language and the child retorted, ‘YES’
Then one of the facilitators called Amey and asked him to post it on discord. He did not agree and the conversation flowed as below
F: What word did you use?
A: She was irritating me
F: I understand you were irritated. what word did you use?
A: I only said mother
F: Why? Is she a mother? Then why did you call her mother?
A: But I only called her mother
F: Yes, mother is a beautiful word, isn’t it? You have a mother. Your mother has a mother. We all have mothers. So share in discord, why did you choose that word to call her when you were irritated?
A: But she irritated me.
F: Yes, I understand you were irritated. But why are you hesitating to share the using of the word ‘mother’ when you dont feel anything is wrong. Outside campus, what words you use is your choice. At campus, we all have decided on a code to not use any abusive language, so there is no choice at campus.
This went on and on with child constantly refusing to post on discord. So next we invited him to see how are the other ways he wants to take care of irritation or any other emotion.
And this is the letter written by the child on he wants to take care of his emotions and what will he do instead of using abusive language
