Most often, we are stuck with certain ideas when it comes to exploring different interests. When we think of art, we only care about painting and sketching. Photography means taking photos or fixing light. Craft involves paper art, origami.
You see the drift, for most explorations we stay at the surface and continue doing what is most obvious in those domains. Nothing wrong with it. However, what happens when scratch the surface and dig deeper. Newer combinations and possibilities emerge which one has never really thought of.
This week in morning circle, we rattled our brains to ideate how a sponge and a pebble can be put to use together. Some ideas that learners discussed – using it as a sandal, dual body scrub for soft and coarse textures, pet training accessories etc.
We then extrapolated the same to our interests and suddenly there was an explosion of magical, vague, absurd ideas to try in my interests. And all were welcome without hesitation.
Sriya explored how would it be to style clothes as per emotions, Rohit wanted to explore movement through photography, Prathathi chose to represent her different feelings with a new tune on keyboard.
Imagine an education that see the potential in every idea and each child…
Imagine an education that doesn’t rush to known ideas or ways of doing something rather is constantly empowering learners to seek newer ways
