“Shall we meet early in the morning, say 05:30 AM?”, someone proposed. What seemed as a joke snowballed into some intense and serious discussion around the need to look at the broader aspect of youth leading their professional journeys and fine tune our approach to CoVersity accordingly.
The intention was to approach the concept from outside in, understand the challenges, opportunities and build the concept around it instead of the other way around.
We thought we will experiment with one week and begin meeting everyday at 05:30 am. The initial few days, we had to dial in a few people, some took the call from the comfort of their blanket. It has been 5 months now and these meeting have happened every single day, except Sundays.
The diversity of the group starting from teenagers to adults with many years of work ex brought in a gamut of perspectives, sometimes debates and some intense sharing. These early morning conversations have deeply enriched our understanding of youth – their aspirations, challenges, needs. In this meeting, we avoid conversation around tactical, operational stuff. The idea is to zoom out and see the bigger picture.
Since CoVersity is all about the commitment towards one’s passion, these meeting stand testament to our passion and the commitment towards building CoVersity for youth.
