It’s amazing to see how the cohort improves their skills through internships. Their reflections show how real-world work helps them grow, just like John Dewey said, “Genuine learning comes through experience.” Sriya, in her 3rd week of an internship in UI/UX design, shares her reflections.
The first two weeks went well. The first week was exciting as I focused on UX, guided by a business analyst and a junior designer who provided resources and tips. I loved using AI and exploring various tools.
Making friends was challenging since everyone spoke Kannada, but I gradually started talking with them.
The second week was tough, working on UI, sitemap, and content. UI felt overwhelming, and I procrastinated until the last minute, which stressed me out. However, following the junior designer’s advice, I used design inspirations, and my UI turned out better than expected. It was my best work yet, though not perfect.
I’m learning tools like Figma and Illustrator, facing challenges, and getting support from colleagues. My portfolio is growing, and I’m slowly making friends. 💃
