As guides, we aren’t experts in the same fields as our cohorts, and that’s intentional. This is one of the criteria for selecting us by the cohorts. The idea is that we’re not meant to be mentors. Cohorts will seek mentors in their specific fields from outside Aarohi.
In the beginning we faced struggles in how to contribute to the cohort’s journey. There was confusion about where and how to add value. Listening to the cohort’s struggle, holding space and giving perspective when they felt lost was ok, but as a whole we had to figure out what other areas we could add value. That’s when there was a suggestion that we could share our learnings in our respective domains. So last term the topics on which session held by guides and community members were as follows:
- How to search?
- Portfolio
- Empathy
- Decoding my professional ethics and value system
- Communication -Speaking.
There are a few that’s lined up for this term too…..
