It began with an idea “how about a radio channel of Aarohi”
RJ Visrtuhi conducted a session on how to start your radio shadow to spark the idea and the rest is a creation story. The first show was super enjoyable. Enjoyed the energy to bring music, speech, talk, story collection, technology, teamwork, planning, creation, and composition in one place., in one show.

ImagineAarohi, learning community, where learning happens because children want to learn from their life – for their life.

Pooja Sharing

We met about two weeks back and decided the theme of Travel
It was an AMAZING 1st session @Radio Aarohi. Although we were only 3 of us Initially nothing stopped us from designing a module & plan ahead to full strength! (Including date of show & Theme on TRAVEL). Everyone was co-host and allocated roles for each presentation. I was the show Manager/RJ
Each of us researched for content. I Selected the songs, the story on that monkeys, RJ script and composed a story to the final joke on the usage of the word TRAIN having a double meaning
We kept meeting regularly to update each other content on the drive – which was very supportive and helped align the team’s contribution to know what to do next. (Little time spent on debates/counter suggestions, etc).
We ALL posted Creatives in different Discord channels to promote/invite people. Worked hard day & night, we all called each other anytime without bothering about the time of the day.

Each one coordinated passionately at all times. I got an opportunity to build a rapport with Jia to explain everything step by step & her parents felt happy about the child’s participation with her own interest.

We rehearsed almost every day. Mutually decided changes in the script and sequencing to make the show run smoothly and effectively. I learned how to adjust to new things and accept everyone’s suggestions (Especially my mom, who really supported me).
Then came the final day of the show!!! I Was nervous but really excited. We started sharp at 8 pm & during the show. People’s comments gave me the motivation to speak more.
Got the chance to be one of the Leaders – in a group where each one was a leader in his or her own way!
I really enjoyed being a part of the Radio Show with Community participation

and the feedback
1) one person couldn’t relate to the humor in the joke section although another person enjoyed the jokes 2) People loved the Flow/Transition during the show especially when one person assumed it was pre-recorded but when informed it was a LIVE show – she was surprised at the smoothness 3) The music choice was good & although it was the usual songs the “Taste” was good and many were humming away to the rhymes of the song Manhatten 4) Everyone felt it was an energetic show and cheered the participants 5) The RJ did a good job and smoothly transited (Although RJ herself felt that she needs to use different tones during the talks as it seemed she was just reading the script) 6) From the Ararohi Campus there were about 15-20 people hearing the show from one device – like old times & * tried to guess who is who on air – and that was the fun part ( to keep it a secret to figure out the speakers) 7) people enjoyed the live Singing and though the name of the singer was identified loud and clear – but it was amazing to hear a live singer doing “magic” by singing/mixing scripts of different languages from a pre recorded song instead of just “playing the song ” 8) The enjoyment of Making of the show was what really mattered and we need to continue with the same spirit 9) it was felt that the sequencing of items needed to be re-considered and maybe add one more song between stories/jokes, etc next time 10) There was a suggestion to have shorter stories of our real life experiences instead of readymade stories!

Imaginea learning community for children (and adults) where there is no curriculum – because we believe that children can decide what they want to learn, how much they want to learn. So children effectively choose what they want to do or learn from whatever is worth doing or learning in this world.
ImagineAarohiwhere there is no teaching – because we believe that children can decide how they want to learn – on their own, with each other and from various resources, etc. We are there to guide them, where they need us.
ImagineAarohi where there are no classes – because we believe that when children learn and teach each other – there is no need to separate them based on ages. All simply learn from whomsoever we can.
ImagineAarohi where there are no tests and exams – because we believe that children can assess themselves, can reflect on this work on an ongoing basis. Also because children do not need to learn for some external objective (marks) but for their own love for learning.
ImagineAarohi, a life education, where learning happens because children want to learn from their life – for their life.
Imagine Aarohi whichdoes not make the learning easy. Children like itchallenging.
Imagine Aarohi which does not make the learning obvious. We make it confusing.
Imagineaarohi which guarantees one definitive outcome – that learning will be self-discovery.

Imagineaarohi which does not need to make the learning interesting, since children work fromtheirinterest.

Imagineaarohi that is not a restaurant, rather akitchen.

We have no dish to offer. We do not serve our children any learning on a platter. We aren’t cooking to satisfy the children.

We’re like akitchen: Raw material and tools (resources) of all kinds are available. Children are challenged to cook for themselves, to create own learning, to explore, experiment for own reasons, to satisfy own hunger.
