Travel brings an opportunity to experience many facets of a place. In a historical place, one can go beyond history. One cannot ignore geography (its location), it’s people (culture), its food, its music, its nature, it’s art, it’s economics, it’s trends and a whole lot of different things.
And the trip to Hampi is no different. It began with churning our mind. This was followed by setting up our own purpose of the trip. And followed by what one needs to prepare before the trip.Outstanding tripsare not just about packing clothes, toiletries, travel tickets and booking places to stay and visit places. It requires a lot more mental planning and preparing our mind suitcase. Each one was expected to spend time and efforts to prepare for the trip to be able to lead own learning.
- Reading about Hampi helped us in understanding what one wants to experience there?
- Understanding the geography and its history helped us in knowing about the place and its location. Which further helped us in imagining what to expect to experience.
- Some desired to sketch, make photo blogs, draw maps, write, record and document – equipping ourselves with necessary skills helped us in achieving our targets. *
- Somewanted to know about festivals, about rocks, about the river, about fishes, about birds, about wildlife and insects – reading about it in advance helped us in expecting what to see and not depend on others to tell us what to expect.
ImagineAarohi that is not a restaurant, rather akitchen. We have no dish to offer. We do not serve our children any learning on a platter. We aren’t cooking to satisfy the children. We’re like akitchen: Raw material and tools (resources) of all kinds are available. Children are challenged to cook for themselves, to create own learning, to explore, experiment for own reasons, to satisfy own hunger.
