No Typical days at Aaorhi – each is different
The week started with a blank sheet – what happens during the week is what and how the people at the campus create them. What I WANT TO DO is the question one is encouraged to ask and go deeper with it. Sometimes it is just my current interest one likes to continue to get involved with, sometimes it is the space to inspire one to do, sometimes the dreams which lead the doing, sometimes the action at the campus which brings involvement, sometimes it’s confusion “what I want to do?”
Collage of our STRENGTHS – We began by recollecting the strengths we exhibited in the past four days. And then looked for related pictures in the old magazines. And then started with recollecting other people in the group who exhibited the strengths. And together created a collage of collective strengths. For some it took time to think “what, did I”, some were pondering “is this really strength, Am I really?”
One of the days was announced as CREATION day – most decided to get into carpentry. The day was full of exploring tools, and the nature of the material, and also some creations.
The bonFire was the idea – Quickly collected sticks, found a space, understood fir guidelines and all gathered around the fire. A space to come together after trying, debating, helping, arguing, and working together.
No, we are not growing anything – This is the preparation to make campus safe from the forest fire. As part of ACTIVE WE, every week we work together on the land. And this week it was about working on cutting dry grass using our newly acquired grass cutting machine, racking the grass, and keeping it for the mulching. And the star was …the grass cutting machine.
One crimson red butterfly just came on his hands and stayed for some time, dancing on his back and then head and then flew away (will share the video). While clicking some pics, I did try observing some features like color, spots, red in the face, etc but when we read the detailed description, we realized there was so much more to observe.
Where did the last 30 hours go? We took a few tokens and saw our day visually to write our journal. And then we used the same tokens to review and rate our day (scale of 1-5). What all did I plan and what all did I? How do I rate myself? Food – did I take care of my body needs, Sleep, sleep. Fitness – Stay, Hygiene, Safety physical, emotional. Care for all — Following mother codes — mask, wash hands, distancing. Learning – My day, my skills, my planning, and implementation clarifying, asking, etc.
