In the Montessori environment, children hold certain materials using a pincer grip and tripod grip. It lays a good foundation for pencil grip which would be useful when they start writing with pencil. Example: colour tablets, pink towers etc. These materials may sound fascinating, but farm life can offer many opportunities to learn these.
I was removing a weed called ottramul. On seeing me doing Athiyan also joined me to remove this. Due to its prickly nature, you have to hold it using a pincer grip while decluttering.
