A child describes Aarohi as
Aarohi is the place where you learn with the grace
Open learning a power you can embrace at Aarohi
Life at Aarohi is not a race
We are often asked “do you follow any philosophy? And we say none. As we believe so many, so so many – people have played an integral part in what we think(now). This week Lev Vygotsky’s was our guide to understand learning and growth as he talks about how to be in the proximity of the child (physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially). So the question to ponder was “What can I do to discover my zone and bring myself into challenge zone”? What can stop me from challenging myself, what makes me go into a frustrating zone, and how can I ease myself back into a challenging zone? – Let’s discover!
When we do work, sometimes we are in the comfort zone (doing what we can easily do), sometimes in the challenge zone and sometimes we are frustrated. It is believed that we learn and grow the maximum in the challenge zone.
As we moved ahead this week exploring our zones we realized that we all have different zones – some working from the comfort zone, some form challenging while some frustrating.
Comfort zone was about – can do, easy, comfy and chill zone.
Challenging was about – not sure, need support, tough, push me, efforts may fail, warm zone.
Frustration was about – Far off like stars, Hot zone, Lava zone.
We also call three zones as repetitive or known zone, learning or new zone, and the last as leaving zone.
Each one of us is different, our skills are different, and interests are different. Each one of us has a different way of looking at challenges and frustration – for some of us reading is challenging while for some of us cooking is frustrating.
Comfortable was – making Tree labels, Mirror collage, maths tables, blogging, reading, gardening, Hindi story reading, trip to the market to buy groceries, photography, solving a cube, cooking, crafting, baking, reading, drawing,
Challenging was – Social Media advertisement, science, Sending an email, carpentry, learning to read, clean up, Subjects, geometry, math, cooking, playing an instrument, managing time
Frustrating was – Stitching new cover for my blanket, Kitchen manager job, Researching, Solving a cube, Accounts, Cooking, reading
So how does one come out of frustration and comfort zone?
Some options we explored – Chunk it down, Ask for help, Put constraints.
And that’s all about the week – we planned, reflected and discovered our own limits – Am I channeling myself? The key was MYSELF and SELF DISCOVERY.
