Says Vishruthi,
So before I present the audio story to you, here is a small (though looks very big ) STORY behind the AUDIO STORY (Ratnesh named it ) So it was an impromptu idea of Ratnesh “Vishruti, would you like to create an audio story with children?” I loved the idea and it was an immediate YES. I suggested 4 days and time and the journey began. We started with few voice exercises where on the first day we tried working on the ‘pitch’. The second day was more about picking up the characters from the story and reading the story and just be a little alined.
On the third day again the reading and rehearsal happened as we were planning to record the story on the fourth day. But I was still thinking if this can be the time to JUST record the story and finish it off or work more on VOICE. I discussed it with Ratnesh again and on the fourth day shared it with everyone. Everyone shared their inclination, few wanted to work on voice more and few were ok with both. With everyone’s consensus, we decided to give 3 more sessions to our story :). Now came the tough job, managing schedules, and bringing everyone together in the last 3 days took some energy from me and Leela!
On the fifth day, we tried working more on different aspects of voice by changing – tone, pitch, volume, energy, expression, emotion. Trupti brought the ‘pauses and punches’ aspect beautifully. On this day hiren in a channel shared his mask and suggested if we all can make one! Ours was the animal kingdom story (with 11 characters) and the mask sounded exciting! We took that up..
On the sixth day we worked with the mouth exercise where how just by changing the mouth design and movement, everything changed and it brought a lot of fun. And then the last day arrived! Yes, the recording day! We planned to do it 2 ways.. 1. Recording only audio story with cameras off 2. Recording story along with the video with speakers view Both the ways, it became classic fun for all of us! @ramya became our Nicest Narrator who also managed the background music and was superbly connected with her both the roles @AVANI and @jiya jogdeo we our goto people for any character replacements (and there were many during the whole process!) @AVANI was our heavy voice scary lion and @jiya jogdeo was the kind messenger! @rishab and his mom got that awesome alligator-ish fear for us as alligator and @trupti was our joyous zebra. @Achalesh remained the giant yet gentle ‘talking’ elephant and @Pooja was our smashing squirrel. @hiren our mask inspiration became the marvelous monkey and @Sakila Nachimuthu and pavan became the ferociously fun-tastic leopard. @sri joined a little later but played remarkable rhinoceros and @vimal became our terrific tiger. @Leela was constantly there as the strongest support and brought a lot of excitement and coordination. Enjoyed every bit of this teamwork and sharing here the story too Enjoyyyyyy
