Today was a mix of exploration, connection, and a little bit of dancing fun!
I headed out to check different types of wood for my treehouse project—Galactica. This time, I was looking into arecanut, eucalyptus, and coconut wood. Each one had its own unique texture, grain, and strength.
Here’s what I learned:
- Arecanut wood is light but needs thoughtful use due to its flexibility.
- Eucalyptus surprised me with its strength and versatility—it’s a good contender for certain structural parts.
- Coconut wood has a beautiful grain and can be strong, but it requires care while working.
Talking to the local wood sellers and carpenters gave me deeper insights into how these woods are used practically—especially in outdoor or experimental structures like Galactica. I even learned how moisture, age, and treatment affect the longevity of each type.
And then, to end the day on a lighter note… I danced! 💃
Some known people invited me for a casual ballroom-style dance session. It was informal, fun, and full of laughter. I’d never danced like that before, and it felt great to move, follow rhythms, and enjoy the flow of the moment.
Reflections:
- Learning doesn’t just happen in workshops or formal spaces—it’s everywhere.
- Wood and movement both require flow, balance, and awareness.
- Mixing technical learning with fun helps me stay inspired and energized.
