Stories are meant to be told to kids, and kids are suppose to listen and enjoy. This week we asked kids to get some books for themselves and share not the story but what were they thinking when they were reading.

They shared about the author, the imagination of the author, about the characters, about the process of choosing that book, about the concept of vocal animals in the stories and so on.

We read for 15 minutes and realized that in 15 minutes we can explore not only about the story but also about story writing too. And sharing for next 15 minutes made our learning 15 times more.

We asked kids to ask questions and others could only answer through questions. I asked ‘where does the sun rises?” Kids expressed that it was easy to answer, but difficult to respond via a question. Some expressed “it is difficult to think, we are so used of not thinking”.

Recommend to let your child lead the learning, let them choose the book, share and also think about the story.

At Aarohi We do not serve our children any learning on a platter. We aren’t teaching them to satisfy. We’re like a kitchen: Raw material and tools (resources) of all kinds are available. Children are challenged to cook for themselves, to create own learning, to explore, experiment for own reasons, to satisfy own hunger.
