The session on understanding theatre began with a question “Why one does theatre?” Apart from being profession, joy and living our interest, theatre tells stories, live that character, and maybe carry a message.
Understanding ingredients of theatre gave an understanding about what all is theatre.. body, stage/set/space, costume, make up, voice, music, lights, dialogue, props, scene, character, language, interaction, action and audience. And theatre is all about playing around with all the above ingredients. And what all theatre needs – preparation, practice, patience, imagination, exercise, learning and team.
A quick exercise on theatre gave us a quick look into theatre – one took up the stage set, one came up with character, one came up with voice, one came up with music, one came up with them and we created theatrein few minutes!
