It was 12:30 in the noon. Few children were in the process of thinking what to do next? Few approached me and asked me what all they can do.I asked them what they would like to do? What is their marazi? They came up with idea of fishing. And our journey of fishing started.

Now the question was: “what all do we need for fishing?” Fishing rod was the first need. The whole group was hunting for a rod which can be converted in to fishing rod. They were trying with bamboo sticks, broken mop stick, branches of trees. They fixed hook at the front to catch the fish. Lot of conversation was going about how tomorrow will be. We all were up till 12 o’clock in the night. The plan was to start at 6:30 in the morning for fishing. I was doubt full but to my great surprise they all were ready with cooked nuggets and French beans to attract fishesJ.

In cool breeze we were doing fishing. We could not catchany fish, but we realised that fishes are more in the middle of the pond. So, we started thinking if there is a way for us to reach middle of the pond. So, the need for a raft came in to picture. The next day, whole group was working on making raft. The question came: “What material to use?” It started from metal sheet and went on to plastic bottles, bamboo sticks……

The whole process was awesome to see as an observer. According to me it was self-directed learning in a true sense.
